About World Water Levels
World Water Levels shows how high rivers, lakes and reservoirs stand now, against what is normal for the date, at official gauges. Every page is one place, with the time of its newest reading. Updated .
What the site does
Every page is built from the published readings of official agencies, read by our own jobs. Each place page gives the newest reading with its time, the normal range for the date, the records in our series and the agency's own levels for the gauge. Lists show the places furthest below and above normal today, by water, state and country.
Independence
This site is independent. It is not run by, endorsed by or affiliated with any of the agencies whose data it shows, and it shows no agency logos. Each page names its sources and links to them, and the sources page lists every source with its licence and the terms we follow.
Corrections
Agencies correct provisional values after they publish them. Each build takes the newest values they publish, so a corrected value replaces the earlier one on every page that shows it. Changes to how we compute the numbers are listed with their date on the methodology page.
Who runs it
World Water Levels and a few sister sites that publish live public data are run by one operator, the operator of https://worldwaterlevels.com, whom you can reach at hello@worldwaterlevels.com.
